2009 SEES AMAZING RESULT FOR CITY OF ELY

A superb team performance by The City of Ely Swimming Club saw them take second place in the ‘B’ Group Finals of the Junior Fenland League on Saturday 17th October  at March.

Throughout the year the swimming club swims in the local Junior Fenland League – travelling all over the region to compete against 15 different teams.  This year Ely managed to achieve enough points to swim in the ‘B’ Final – this is a massive improvement on last year when the team was in the ‘C’ Final.

Coach Elaine Hill said:  “The children have been training incredibly hard and they deserved their success.  Each week they have worked and worked showing the commitment and dedication needed to achieve this result.”  Ely achieved 2nd place – losing only to the larger team of Huntingdon and having beaten Wisbech, March and Bottisham .
